Treasure Randy Schaeffer announced that the expenditure is $249.75 and that the balance is $2264.62. Johnston/Boukaabar moved to pay $30 as PCTM dues.  The motion was approved.

Johnston announced that List-serve might not be functioning anymore.  Communication is being done using e-mails.  He needs to update the e-mail directory of all faculty in the system.

Shembari announced that his institution is not willing to allow “.org” for the SSHEMA website.  There are two options, one is to buy space somewhere and the other is to leave it as it is, i.e., bookmarked.

Shembari reminded presenters at the SSHEMA Conference that they give, if they desire so, their papers to be included in the Proceedings.  These can be in Word, HTML, or PDF.

PCTM report:  Seeber had no report.  It was decided that Shembari would write a letter to PCTM asking about the status of SSHEMA.

SSHEMA Conferences:  There was no news about the Clarion Conference.  Concerning the Lock haven Conference, Rehn announced that the Conference will pay for breakfast, the registration fee is $10 per person, honorariums for guest speakers are taken care by an internal grant that she wrote.  Rehn will send the leftover money to SSHEMA.  Kutztown will host the 2002 Conference, Indiana will host the 2003 Conference, and Millersville will host the 2004 Conference.

The proposed changes of  SSHEMA Constitution and Bylaws were distributed to be read, discussed, and voted on next year.

PDE Draft Guidelines for Professional Education Programs:  the letter that Shembari sent was distributed.  He informed that he got an answer from PDE.  They agree with the SSEMA position.

Concerning the nomination for officers, Schaeffer is the program Chair and Bateman is the Vice-Chair.

Other Business:  It was decided that incentives for participants to the conference is a good idea.  Rile/Gendler moved that departments, which pay dues, are entitled to get certificate for two first time participants.  Johnston will work on this issue.  Joint meetings with the MAA Section were discussed; Indiana’s representant will look into that.  Randy will send the due notices.

Schaeffer/Riley moved to adjourn.

Respectfully submitted,

Kaddour Boukaabar
