Treasurer's Report
MathSciNet
A fee is needed to be paid in order to obtain
MathSciNet. Libraries are members of
PALCI through which MathSciNet is distributed.
SSHEMA List-serve
The SSHEMA List-serve is up and running and seems to be
working fine. We still need a list of
e-mail addresses by next fall of faculty in each department so that we can ask
them to join the list-serve. The SSHEMA
List-serve will be very helpful for advertising the conference and other
announcements.
SSHEMA Web Page
Paul Schembari brought up the web page issue. To register our domain name, the fee would
be $35. It was discussed whether or not
our web address should be changed to www.sshema.org
or www.sshemapa.org. Cliff Johnston will follow up on
this.
The Proceedings of SSHEMA
The Proceedings were discussed and it was decided that they
should be given to the authors in a bounded volume and also be published on the
web. Authors would be asked to give
their papers in Word or PDF. Cheryl
Olsen will write a list of how to convert the Proceedings.
PCTM Report
Marc Seeber reminded everyone that the next PCTM meeting is
in Pittsburgh in March. The last PCTM
meeting was well attended and there were several students’ talks. Our organization is affiliated with PCTM.
SSHEMA Conferences
Concerning past SSHEMA conferences, Shippensburg came out
even and Clarion seems to have done well and expects a small profit. SSHEMA is paying for the breakfast and
Clarion is taking care of the honorariums for the guest speakers. The next conference registration fee is $59,
an increase of $10 over the previous ones.
Carol Rehn and her colleagues are looking at setting a date for the
conference. Kutztown will host the 2002
conference; it could be a joint meeting with EPADEL. Paul Schembari and Cliff Johnston will attend the Executive Meeting
of EPADEL to discuss further the issue with EPADEL’s officers.
Other Business
Adjournment
